Porto Elounda offers outstanding luxury and excellent leisure facilities to cater for all age groups. Situated on a pristine beach overlooking the sparkling Bay of Mirabello, the whitewashed architecture reflects a traditional Cretan style while inside, earthy colours and antique furnishings create a distinctly local rustic feel that remains luxurious and stylish throughout. The private beach has been awarded an EU Blue Flag and the sea sports centre situated in the shelter of the bay offers an array of activities supervised by experienced staff. Luxury yachts may also be chartered. There is a freshwater swimming pool and a children’s paddling pool next to the beach. The beach and pool areas are supervised by lifeguards between 10am and 6pm. Children can also enjoy an excellent range of activities in safe surroundings at the Children’s Ark. The Children’s Ark is open from mid-April to October, 6 days a week, from 10am until 6pm. The club is split into 3 groups: Penguins (age 2-4), Dolphins (age 4-6) and Tigers (age 6-10). Set in an olive grove, there are two pools which are supervised at all times and the weekly programme of activities, catered towards the different age groups, includes ceramics, basketball, treasure hunts and play-acting. Charges vary according to age group and length of session.
The crèche at the Children’s Ark caters for children aged 6 months to 2 years. Charges vary according to length of session and frequency booked.
Accommodation
142 rooms and suites – all room types face the sea and have marble bathroom, A/C and heating, SAT TV, telephone, internet connection, mini bar, safe and 24-hr room service.
Family rooms – Interconnecting rooms are available. The Porto deluxe suites with shared pool and the exclusive 2 bedroom suite with individual pool are particularly recommended for families. Maximum occupancy is 2 adults and 1 child in a room, but 2 adults and 2 children in a suite.
